How long is a session, and can I have longer?

Every session is 30 minutes, with a 5-minute changeover afterwards so the next person is not waiting outside. If you want an hour, book two consecutive slots — the second one costs another session or credit, and the door simply stays yours through both.

How far ahead can I book?

Each plan comes with its own booking window: 7 days ahead on pay as you go, 14 days on Monthly 4, 21 days on Monthly 8 and 30 days on Annual. Evening slots between 17:30 and 19:30 are the ones that go first, so a longer window is worth having if you train after work.

Can I cancel or move a booking?

Cancel free up to 2 hours before your slot and the credit goes straight back to your balance, or the card payment is refunded. Inside that window the slot is gone — the cabin has already started heating for you and nobody else can realistically take it.

What happens if I turn up late?

Check-in opens 5 minutes before your slot and stays open for the first 15 minutes of it. Your session still ends at the booked time, so arriving late means a shorter sauna. After that the booking is marked as a no-show and released.

Do I need to book at all, or can I just turn up?

You can walk up and scan the QR code on the cabin door. If it is free, you can book it there and then for the next slot. The risk is simply that someone booked it from home — which is why the location pages show live availability before you set off.

What does a single session cost?

A one-off 30-minute session is £15 at every location — there is no peak pricing and no surcharge for a busier gym. Membership brings that down to £7.28 a session on the annual plan.

Is one credit always one session?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A credit is not a currency with a fluctuating rate — it buys one 30-minute session at any Recovery Lab, at any time inside opening hours. That is deliberate, so you never have to work out whether now is a good time to spend one.

Do unused credits roll over?

Accepted Answer

No. Credits are issued for one membership period and are meant to be used inside it — anything left at the end of the period expires rather than carrying forward. Week Pass credits expire when the pass does, after 7 days. Credits are never sold back for cash.

How do I cancel, and will you make it awkward?

Two taps in your account, no notice period, no retention phone call. The plan runs to the end of the cycle you have paid for and then stops; you keep any credits until that date. You can restart later on the same account.

Which payment methods do you take?

Any UK debit or credit card through Stripe, and PayPal. Apple Pay and Google Pay are there too, on the devices and browsers that support them. We never see or store your card details. Subscriptions are charged on the same date each cycle and you get an email receipt every time.

What do I need to bring?

Water, a towel to sit on, and something to change into. Most locations hire towels — the location page lists it under facilities. Showers and changing rooms belong to the host gym and are included with your session.

Do I need to be a member of the host gym?

No. Your booking is with Recovery Lab, not the gym, and it covers the cabin plus the changing facilities on the way to it. Some partners give their own members a discount, which shows on that location page when they do.

How do I actually get in?

Scan the QR code on the cabin door when you arrive, or open the booking in your account and check in from there — both reach the same screen. Check-in confirms you have arrived for your slot; the cabin is yours for the time you booked.

How hot is it, and how is the cabin cleaned?

Cabins run at roughly 75–80°C of dry heat and preheat before your slot. Benches are wiped down between sessions by the host gym team, with a deeper clean at the end of each day; the 5-minute gap between bookings exists for exactly that.

Can I bring someone with me?

Where a cabin seats two, one booking covers two people — the cabin capacity is on the location page. Everyone in the cabin needs to have read the safety guidance, including whoever comes with you.

How long should my first session be?

Most people find 15–20 minutes plenty on a first visit, even though the slot is 30 minutes. Leave the cabin whenever you want to; the door is never locked from the inside. Build up over several visits rather than sitting it out to prove a point.

Who should speak to a doctor first?

If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, low or high blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes, a skin condition affected by heat, or take medication that changes how your body handles heat or fluid, please check with your GP or pharmacist before your first session.

Can I use the sauna after a drink, or after training hard?

Not after alcohol — it affects how your body regulates heat and how well you notice that something is wrong. After training is fine and is the whole point, but rehydrate first and keep the session shorter than usual if the session was brutal.

What happens if I feel unwell in there?

Leave straight away — the door opens from the inside and is never locked. Then speak to the host gym team: they are on site during opening hours and reception is the quickest way to reach someone. Get medical help if you need it.

Are there age limits?

Bookings are for over-18s. Under-18s cannot use a cabin, including as a guest, because there is no staff member in the room. Photo ID may be requested by the host gym at reception.
